Supporting Your Right to Know
Learn About the Freedom of Information Act at "Information Access" Event on April 25

Please join us for "Supporting Your Right to Know: Information Access," an event celebrating our 66th anniversary in the Federal Depository Library Program, which distributes government information. Our keynote speaker, SSA Nicole Sinegar (FBI), will discuss the Freedom of Information Act.

Tenth Annual EXPO Awards Ceremony on April 28

Please join the Office of Undergraduate Research in congratulating the award winners of the 10th exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities. A buffet lunch will follow.

Opening Reception for Senior Art Students to be on April 28

Date: Friday, April 28, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Location: Dishman Art Museum

The senior students will be showcasing their final works at the Dishman Art Museum until May 13. An opening reception will be on April 28. Admission is free.

Dance Unleashed Concert Set for April 28, 29

Date: Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29
Location: University Theatre

Dance Unleashed: Faculty Dance Concert features the 四虎影视 student company of dancers at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 28, and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29. Jazz, modern, tap, contemporary, etc. will be featured. The concert will be choreographed by LU dance faculty and guest artist Kiera Amison of Muscle Memory Dance Theatre. now.

Senior Film Students to Present Final Projects

Date: Friday, April 28, 5 - 8:30 p.m.
Location: Price Auditorium, John Gray Center

Senior film students from the Department of Communications and Media will present their final short film to faculty, media professionals and the community. Admission is free.

A Resiliency Reader
Last Call for "A Resiliency Reader" Submissions

Deadline: Sunday, April 30, 11:59 p.m.

This is the last call for submissions. The Center for Resiliency is publishing a book of collected works from the Lamar community, including LIT, Lamar State College Orange and Lamar State College Port Arthur. We're accepting poetry, short fiction, personal/scholarly essays and art. Tell us your story of resilience. Five submissions will be awarded $100 each.

Call for 2024 Study Abroad Course Proposals

Deadline: Thursday, June 1, 5 p.m.

If you are interested in teaching a course abroad during the winer or summer semesters next year, the Office of Study Abroad is now accepting course proposals. If you missed our workshop on submitting course proposals, reach out to Tiffany Perkinz to schedule a meeting.

The FY23 Inventory Verification from May 1 - June 15

The state of Texas requires 四虎影视 to conduct an annual verification of its property. This is no small task, with over 10,000 assets distributed among 125 departments. The list of assets to be verified will be sent to each department's property custodian on May 1 and is due June 15. More information is available.

The Office of Student Aid is now on and . Follow these accounts to stay up with financial aid, scholarships and veterans affairs.

Ombuds Office Moves to CICE Building

The Ombuds Office has moved to its new location in Room 130 of the CICE Building. This new site will offer increased confidentiality for visitors. The office also has numerous resources for managing work-related problems. Feel free to come by and see what it offers.

Buckeye Partners Funds Research Project for LU Professors

Buckeye Partners, L.P. ("Buckeye") has funded $100,000 for the continuation and expansion of a research project led by 四虎影视 professors Dr. Mariam Hamidi and Dr. Jing Zhang that is focused on deep learning-based defect classification and prediction. This research project was initially funded by the Center for Midstream Management and Science under its annual RFP research program.
