Center for Resiliency Invites All Faculty Interested in FY24 Grants

Katherine Hoerth to Read Selections from New Poetry Collection

Katherine Hoerth will read selections from her new collection of Southeast Texas eco-feminist poetry, "Flare Stacks in Full Bloom. The event will include student poetry, music and refreshments.

Bands of Beaumont Concert on April 13

Location: Julie Rogers Theatre

The Mary Morgan Department of Music's symphonic band will be sharing the stage with West Brook High School and Beaumont United High School for the final symphonic band concert of the season. Admission is free.

Lamar Opera Theatre to Present "Der Betrogene Kadi" on April 14

Date: Friday, April 14, 7:30 - 9 p.m.
Location: Rothwell Recital Hall

The 四虎影视 Opera Theatre from the Mary Morgan Department of Music presents its spring production of "Der Betrogene Kadi," taking place in the 18th century Ottoman Empire. Admission is free.

Civil Engineering Redfish Classic to be Held April 15

Date: Saturday, April 15, 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: High Tides, 3109 Texas Ave, Bridge City, Texas 77611

四虎影视's American Society for Civil Engineers will hold a fishing tournament April 15, along with a captains dinner April 14. Ten percent of all proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the rest will go toward funding our conventions and competitions.

Department of Music's Collage Concert Will be on April 18

The Mary Morgan Department of Music's collage concert features our finest large ensembles, small chamber groups and a variety of students and faculty performers. Audience members get a small taste of every type of music from opera to jazz.

Texas Academy Preview Day for High School Students to be Held on April 22

Learn Everything You Need to Know About Buying a Home on April 27

Date: Thursday, April 27, 1 - 2 p.m.
Location: Setzer Student Center, Neches Room 120

Join Money Management Program, along with Ashlynn Lalonde from Mobiloil Credit Union, will teach a step-by-step guide to buying a home. Buying a home involves finding the property, securing financing, making an offer, getting a home inspection and closing on the purchase. More information is available.

Pulse Release Party to be Held on May 2

Applications for Student Scholar Program Due May 31

The Texas State University System Regents' Student Scholar Award is now open for applications. More information is available.

The FY23 Inventory Verification from May 1 - June 15

The state of Texas requires 四虎影视 to conduct an annual verification of its property. This is no small task, with over 10,000 assets distributed among 125 departments. The list of assets to be verified will be sent to each department's property custodian on May 1 and is due June 15. More information is available.

Slaughter Named to Texas School Safety Center

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed E. Michael Slaughter to the Texas School Safety Center Board for terms set to expire Feb. 2025. The board reports to the governor, legislature, state Board of Education and the Texas Education Agency regarding school safety and security.
