Center for Resiliency's Brown Bag Lecture Series Continues

The Future of Death Penalty Conference to be Held April 4

Date: Tuesday, April 4, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Eighth Floor, Mary and John Gray Library

The Center for Death Penalty Studies will hold a conference regarding the future of the death penalty. Speakers at the conference include Amherst College law professor Austin Sarat and Executive Director of the Death Penalty Information Center Robert Dunham.

First-Year Writers Invited to Taco Write (RSVP Required)

Call for Submissions: Tell Us Your Story of Resilience

The Center for Resiliency is publishing a book of collected works from the Lamar community, including LIT, Lamar State College Orange and Lamar State College Port Arthur. We're accepting poetry, short fiction, personal/scholarly essays and art. Tell us your story of resilience. Five submissions will be awarded $100 each.

LU Announces Recipients for 2023 David J. Beck Fellowship Scholarship

Allison Harmon and Jacob Thompson will be receiving the David J. Beck scholarship for 2023. Harmon (Vidor, Texas) is an English major with a minor in writing. Thompson (Beaumont, Texas) is a biology major with a minor in chemistry and a concentration in pre-medicine.
