Exploring MIS & SAP with Guest Speaker Adam Schick

Date: Monday, Feb. 14, 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Location: Landes Auditorium (GB 101)

During this session students will have the opportunity to learn about careers in MIS, as well as the software and technology used in this field. Alumnus Adam Schick (MIS '18) will be joining to discuss his career and experience with MIS & SAP.

Investigating and Prosecuting the James Byrd Jr. Case

Date: Wednesday, Feb. 16, 4-5:30 p.m.
Location: Setzer Student Center Live Oak Ballroom

James Byrd Jr. was an African American man whose murder in Jasper, Texas made national headlines and sparked legislative changes. Following Byrd's death, the family established the James Byrd Foundation for Racial Healing. Presenters: Tim Brewer, adjunct professor, and Mark Broome, instructor.

LUTV Productions to premier Charlton-Pollard documentary

Date: Feb. 18, 6-7 p.m.
Location: Jefferson Theatre

In this 32-minute film, former residents, members of the community and a local historian document the people and the legacy of the Charlton-Pollard neighborhood, one of the oldest Black neighborhoods in Beaumont. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Faculty Mentor Award Call for Nominations

The Office of Undergraduate Research is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2022 Faculty Mentor Award. This award honors an undergraduate research mentor for his/her success in mentoring UG students in research. We are accepting self-nominations as well. Black Gospel Music Moments on KVLU

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (S.U.R.F.)

Nominate Students for the Ann Shaw Leadership Award

The Ann Shaw Award recognizes a junior or senior student who makes significant contributions to the LU community through teamwork, leadership, ethics, and integrity. Students may apply or be nominated by a student, faculty or staff. The winner receives $1,000 and special LU recognition.

Library seeking student and faculty input on study rooms!

Simio Approves In-Kind Grant to the Center for Midstream Management and Science

Simio LLC has approved an in-kind grant valued at $216,000 to 四虎影视's Center for Midstream Management and Science. This grant includes 90 copies of Simio® Academic Edition software that will be used in research and education in digital manufacturing.

COVID-19 Vaccines Available

Free COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are available at the Student Health Center to all 四虎影视/LIT students, faculty and staff. You must register for an appointment. 

The Student Health Center is also offering COVID-19 booster vaccines for eligible students, faculty and staff for LU and LIT campuses. Eligibility criteria can be found on the . Please fill out the registration form for an appointment.
