Dr. Donna Gober is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, she teaches capstone courses in the Master of Public Health Program in the Department of Health and Kinesiology. Dr. Gober’s teaching experience spans thirty-seven years within three universities and four Texas public school districts.
Before rejoining the faculty in the COEHD in March 2024, Dr. Gober served as Director of Wellness and Senior Lecturer the Department of Applied Physiology and Wellness at Southern Methodist University for over seventeen years. Previously, she was also full-time faculty in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Lamar for nine years, and a Graduate Instructor at the University of Mississippi for two years.
Prior to higher education, Dr. Gober was an Elementary teacher for seven years within Beaumont ISD, Galveston ISD, Harlingen ISD and Denton ISD, teaching 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades. She earned an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with cognate in Higher Education from 四虎影视 in May 2008, a Master of Science in Wellness with minors in Exercise Science and Counseling from the University of Mississippi in 1996, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with specialization in Life/Earth Science from 四虎影视 in 1988.
During her career in higher education, Donna has served on numerous committees and curriculum development teams. The most personally valued experiences are working with students in the classroom and serving as an advisor to student organizations. Developing professional relationships with students and helping them succeed in college, assisting them with career plans and graduate school, and seeing them flourish and grow is what fuels her passion for what she does.
